RABIA DE LATOUR, MD

Rabia de Latour, M.D. is a double board certified gastroenterologist and therapeutic endoscopist in New York City. She specializes in pancreaticobiliary disorders, endoscopic ultrasonography, interventional, bariatric, and luminal endoscopy. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine and the Director of Endoscopy at Bellevue Hospital.

Education / training

She received her undergraduate Bachelor in Science degree from Cornell University, medical degree from Stony Brook SOM and completed her internal medicine residency, gastroenterology fellowship, and advanced endoscopy fellowship all at New York University School of Medicine.

Dr. Rabia is a clinician at the oldest public hospital in the United States, Bellevue Hospital Center, where she primarily works with underserved patients and populations. She is a clinical researcher with over 30 scientific articles and presentations at national scientific meetings and several ongoing clinical studies. She has a strong interest in global health and has had the opportunity to work in hospitals in Istanbul, Turkey as well as Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India where she performed breast cancer research and delved into the art of Ayurvedic medicine.

Rabia serves on the training committee of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) where she has focused on trainee educational tools and improving hospital sustainability efforts and is an active member of the American College of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). In her free time, you can catch her playing competitive tennis in her local league, painting, raising monarch butterflies in her apartment, gardening, composting, and spending time with her family.

Rabia is fluent in English, Urdu/Hindi, and Punjabi and conversant in medical Spanish.
